MEET OUR NEW ELDER CANDIDATES

Kent Ahrenholtz
Kent Ahrenholtz and his wife, Teresa, were born and raised in Iowa and have called southwest Indiana and Crossroads home since 2002. Married for 37 years, they have two married children – Bryant (31) and Rachel (28) – and one grandson.

Kent and Teresa live in northeast Evansville. They have been involved in numerous Crossroads ministries over the years. Currently, they co-lead a small group in their home. In addition, Kent is part of the Crossroads Missional Living Core Team and has led Faith and Work Book Studies both last spring and this fall.  He has also been a group leader in the Bible Study Fellowship Evansville men’s class for the past 6 years and has supported various missionaries.

Kent is a civil engineer and works for an engineering consulting firm, Kaskaskia Engineering Group, as a principal engineer and senior project manager. He has held executive-level positions for various engineering firms with a focus in management, marketing, and leadership. He has also led several major transportation projects throughout his career, including the I-69 Evansville to Indianapolis project.

Kent is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in civil engineering and the University of Kansas with an M.S. in engineering management. He is excited about the opportunity to use his God-given gifts of Leadership and Administration to serve Crossroads as an elder.

Jason Stephenson
Jason and Regina Stephenson have been married for 26 years and have resided in Newburgh for 8 years.  Before moving to Newburgh, they lived in Indianapolis, IN.  Jason and Regina began attending Crossroads in 2015.  Their two daughters, Maddie (21) and Regan (18), are studying at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.  Jason and Regina are adjusting to becoming empty-nesters this year and enjoy traveling (including to Nashville to visit their kids), walking their dogs, reading, and theater.

Jason and Regina have both been involved in Crossroads as well as other nonprofits in the Evansville area.  Jason is the Vice President of the Habitat for Humanity Vanderburgh County Board and participates in small groups, men’s ministry, church planting, and outreach efforts at Crossroads.  Jason is an attorney focusing on energy law with CenterPoint Energy.  He currently serves as the Vice President and Associate General Counsel.  Regina works with For Evansville, serves as the treasurer for Potter’s Wheel, is a member of the Crossroads finance team, and is a financial coach at the Crossroads Counseling Center.  Jason is honored and excited about the opportunity to serve Crossroads as an Elder.

MEET OUR RETURNING ELDER CANDIDATES
These Elder candidates are returning for a three-year term.

Brian Gower
Brian Gower has been married to Dawn for 36 years and they have been members of Crossroads for over 35 years.  They have three adult daughters, Whitley (Todd) Helsley, Alyssa (Grant) Chapman, and Sydney (Kennan) Barnett, and seven grandchildren.  As a family, they enjoy backyard family fun, games, and relaxing at the beach!

In the years at Crossroads, Brian has served as an Elder since
2000.  He and Dawn currently lead a small group and have served in many ministry areas including early days in youth ministry, many years in worship ministry, and have attended multiple mission trips with youth and adults.  Brian has a heart for teaching and Dawn continues to lead in worship.  As a couple, they love mentoring the “next generation.”

Brian is an accountant and licensed CPA and currently serves as Vice President of Finance and Accounting and Energy Systems Group, a locally based energy services construction company.  Dawn operated her own hair salon until merging into a full-time role as “Nonni.”

Brian and Dawn love the local church here at Crossroads, for what it has historically been, for what it is today, and for what it will be in the years to come as we all continue to live and love like Jesus.

Dwight Silvera
The Silvera family has called Evansville, Indiana, and Crossroads their home for the past 9.5 years. Dwight and his wife, Trish, have been married for 21years. He is an Ophthalmologist at Talley Eye Institute and has a passion to help restore people’s sight. That passion led him to participate in 14 medical mission trips, with an upcoming trip this summer to Peru.

A number of years ago, out of a desire to better learn and understand God’s Word, Dwight completed a Master’s in Applied Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute.

Dwight and Trish lead a small group at Crossroads and their children Ethan (17) and Emma (14) regularly serve (Ethan on the production team running cameras and Emma in the nursery).  Dwight has greatly enjoyed serving on the Elder board at Crossroads for the past three years, with particular involvement on the Growth team, including Youth and Kids Ministries. The Silveras are excited to continue to serve, as they seek, by faith, what God is doing through Crossroads.
