Summer Serve Bingo: I Have Kids In School

The opportunities here help families connect their growing world to what God is doing around them. The goal is to build a habit of noticing people, asking questions, and taking small steps toward others.

  1. With your family, create a map of your neighborhood. If you know the names of any neighbors, write their names over where they live.
  2. Introduce yourself to a neighbor you’ve never met before.
  3. Get ice cream at Zesto’s on South Riverside. How is this different from other ice cream shops?

  4. Go to Tepe Park and play on their playground.

  6. Attend one of the Youth Choir Outreach performances.
    • Friday, June 12, 3:30-8:00 PM at Evansville Rescue Mission (500 E Walnut St, Evansville, IN 47713)
    • Saturday, June 13, 12:30-3:30 PM at Potter’s Wheel (333 Jefferson Ave, Evansville, IN 47713)
  7. Drive through the Southside of Evansville and talk about what you notice.
    • Where would you get food if you lived there and didn’t have a car?
    • Do you find any doctor’s offices?
    • How many churches can you find?
  8. Write thank-you notes to nurses at the Deaconess Emergency Room.
  9. Take cookies to a Fire, Police or EMS station.
  10. Join a team of Crossroads volunteers to sort clothing at Borrowed Hearts.

  23. Read a book about a family from a different culture.
  24. Visit New International's website and read about one of the Massai families working with our partners at AfricaHope in Kenya. Pray for one a family.
  25. Read a story in the Crossroads Extraordinary magazine and pray for those you read about.
