Summer Serve Bingo: I Have A Young Family

The opportunities here offer simple, family-friendly ways to begin noticing the people and places around you. The goal is to build a habit of paying attention and inviting God into everyday moments.

  1. Share with your children about 3 coworkers and pray for them by name.
  2. Draw a picture or write a thank-you note for a neighbor.
  3. Take cookies to a first responder station. (Police, Fire, EMS)
  4. Visit the park closest to your home and say hello to 5 people.
  5. Learn the names of 3 people who live near to you and pray for them as a family.
  6. Get ice cream at Zesto’s on South Riverside. How is this different from other ice cream shops?

  7. Attend a Youth Choir Outreach performance.

    • Saturday, June 13, 12:30-3:30 PM at Potter’s Wheel (333 Jefferson Ave, Evansville, IN 47713)
  8. Bring snacks for Baby Bullpups at Potter’s Wheel.
    • Baby Bullpups will take place June 3-June 30 / Please make deliveries during Potter Wheel’s office hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:00 PM
  9. Visit Hope Gallery and ask their staff about a piece of art.

  10. Drop off diapers or wipes to the Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children.
    • Please drop off items to the Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Store (1107 Washington Square, Evansville, IN 47715) and let them know your donation is for the Center for Women and Children. Below are needed items for the CWC:
      1. Diapers (size 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
      2. Pull-ups (all sizes)
      3. Goodnights (all sizes)
      4. Wipes
  11. Take your family to a nursing home and have a resident read a book to your children.
  12. Walk around a local hospital and pray for health care workers.

  13. Go through a fast-food restaurant drive thru and thank the person who serves you by name.
  14. Pray for a sick friend or family member with your whole family.
  15. Introduce yourself to another family at church you haven’t met before.
  16. Read “The Rabbit Listened” to your children and talk about the importance of empathy.
  17. Donate gently used kids’ clothes to Borrowed Hearts.
  18. Wave and introduce yourself to someone you regularly see but don’t know.
  19. Bring flowers to a nursing home in your area.
  20. Visit your local library and learn about their summer programs.
  21. Purchase school supplies for Glenwood Leadership Academy.
  22. Walk a trail that you would not normally walk.
  23. Read a book about a family from another culture.
  24. Pray for a people group who live in another country who don’t have a church near them.
  25. Take a Global Engagement Card from the Be Sent Wall in the Atrium and pray for a local or global partner of Crossroads.
